OUR PEOPLE

A family-owned business, led by Michael and Lynn Pierce, with a team of 150+ employees who make up our Prodesse family.

MICHAEL PIERCECo-Founder & Co-CEO
Michael has over 37+ years experience managing property in California and Washington. He has been active in the management, operation, acquisition, renovation, and construction of apartments since 1979. Prior to founding Prodesse Property Group, Michael was a member of the management team at Essex Property Trust in Palo Alto, California.

He has been an active board member of the California Apartment Association (CAA) for over 27+ years and served as its Board President in 2009. In addition, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of CAA Tri-County Division since 1991 and served as its President in 1997. Michael also serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Francis Center of Redwood City, a non-profit organization providing housing, education, food, and clothing for the economically
disadvantaged — and currently serves as its the Board President. He also serves on the San Mateo County Colleges Educational Housing Corporation board and was a member of the San Mateo County Jobs Housing Task Force and remains involved in its successor Homes For All initiative.

Michael holds the designation of Certified Property Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management and is a public speaker on the subject of rental housing management, operations, and ethics. Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

LYNN PIERCECo-Founder & Co-CEO
Lynn leads the financial management and human resources functions for Prodesse Property Group. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has been active in the accounting profession since 1983. Her experience encompasses management consulting, computer operations, general accounting, tax planning, tax preparation, and auditing. Lynn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics-Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Lynn currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) and has served as the CFO. HIF is a non-profit charitable organization supported by the apartment, real estate, and building industries with a mission to help individuals and families remain in or return to stable housing.

She also serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Francis Center of Redwood City, a non-profit organization whose focus is providing housing, education, food, and clothing to economically disadvantaged.

To provide excellent full-service property management for our building owners and the thousands of residents who call a Prodesse property their home.

This initiative was inspired by our desire to embody goodness and do our best in everything we do, every day. This includes making decisions based upon what is right and ethical, going the extra mile, being mindful of our actions, putting ourselves in your shoes, initiating simple acts of kindness, giving back to our local community, and leaving the world a better place than the way we found it.

Being good leads to doing good which leads to living good.

We care deeply about the communities of which we are a part. This civic concern is exemplified in Prodesse’s active support of affordable housing through its support of the Housing Industry Foundation and assistance to the St. Francis Center in their operation of the St. Clare Apartments in Redwood City and Carriage Manor Apartments in East Palo Alto.

OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Lori Kentzell, Director of Compliance & Training

Lori joined Prodesse in 2002 and currently serves as the Director of Compliance & Training. Prior to joining Prodesse Property Group, Lori’s career included 15-years in a series of leadership positions at The Tan Group, a privately held real estate group with property holdings in California and Washington. Lori’s keen understanding of real estate and operational risks brings a unique strength to the organization in her role developing training and compliance programs to help the Prodesse Team navigate the growing complexity encompassing commercial real estate.

Chris O’Connor, Director of Residential Management

Chris joined Prodesse in 2020 and currently serves as a Director of Residential Management and currently holds a California Real Estate Broker’s License. Prior to joining Prodesse, Chris’s real estate career includes 28 years at Cambridge Management Company in a series of leadership positions responsible for operations and regulatory compliance. Chris began his Real Estate career in 1983 working 4 years as an Accounting Manager with Vesteg Financial Group, a Real Estate Syndication firm located in San Mateo that owned and managed 20,000 residential units in Dallas, Denver and Miami Beach. He then joined Brian St. John and Associates leading the financial management, ultimately becoming a co-owner/partner of the Bay Area Property Management firm after 5 years before merging with Cambridge Management Company.

David Gutierrez, Director of Residential Management

David joined Prodesse in 2000 and currently serves as a Director of Residential Management. He has been active in the real estate profession since 1980 and currently holds a California Real Estate Brokers License. Prior to joining Prodesse, David was part of an investment group that owned and managed residential and commercial real estate in Mountain View, East Palo Alto and San Jose, California. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Economics from San Jose State University and a Master of Arts in Education from Stanford University.
